Syspine VoIP Phone System to be Distributed in Canada by Williams Telecommunications


(RENO, Nev., Aug. 29, 2008) Quanta Computer announced today that Williams Telecommunications Corp. will now be serving as a master distributor of the Syspine Digital Operator Phone System throughout Canada.
Syspine, an advanced IP phone system designed for small businesses with up to 50 employees, was created for ease of use, low costs and integration with other technologies. Featuring Microsofts (Nasdaq: MSFT) Response Point technology, Syspine has a powerful voice-recognition system that can be linked with a companys internal phone directory, as well as an individuals Microsoft Office Outlook address book.

DEFENSE INFORMATION SYSTEMS AGENCY CERTIFIES POLYCOM HDX 9000


Polycom is committed to delivering complete visual communications solutions that meet stringent U.S. government security, interoperability and performance requirements
PLEASANTON, Calif. July 15, 2008 Polycom, Inc. (NASDAQ: PLCM), the global leader in telepresence, video and voice communications solutions, today announced the Polycom HDX 9000 series high-definition telepresence solution with Software Release 2.0.0J has been added to the Department of Defense Unified Capabilities Approved Products List (UCAPL).

To achieve this status, the Polycom HDX 9000 with Software Release 2.0.0J passed two stringent certification processes: 1) It received Information Assurance Accreditation (IA) from the Defense IA/Security Accreditation Working Group (DSAWG) on June 10, 2008; and 2) It received the Interoperability Certification (IOC) on April 23, 2008 from the Joint Staff. These combined certifications allow for video communications over ISDN (H.320) networks.

Joint Interoperability Certification applies to every Department of Defense (DOD) Information Technology (IT) and National Security System (NSS) and assures that the Combatant Commander, Services, and Agency systems can interoperate in a joint, combined, and coalition environment.
